Abstract
The paper discusses how the University’s teaching and learning strategy is implemented through a series of initiatives at School level including the award of Teaching Fellowships and the support of the Learning Strategist role. The paper also focuses on how collaborative and assistive technologies have been used to enhance the student experience in teaching, learning and assessment. Particular emphasis is given on formative assessment, activity based learning, self-paced study and customisation of teaching environments. Such technologies are discussed in terms of designing pilot studies, assessing their impact on the student experience and progression results as well as the dissemination of good practice and the deployment of success stories.
