Abstract

Paper Shadows. 2016. Video installation for video projectors and hand-made screens.
Sherwin's site specific video installation 'Paper Shadows’ (2016) was exhibited at Studio Kura  22/23 and 29/30 October 2016 as a part of Itoshima International Art Festival 2016, Fukuoka, Japan.
Paper Shadows is a video installation made to replace the Shoji screens in the tatami room at Gallery/House 2, Studio Kura. It uses two video projectors and hand-made screens. The projected images were recorded in the same space of the exhibition at different times of day and night. The aim is to (re)direct viewers attention to the presence of space and time and is a continuation of my previous work in this field (cf 'Staircase' Siobhan Davies 2011).
