Abstract

This paper described a pilot study carried out by the authors into the practical non-trivial information search strategies of older people. The qualitative approach adopted in this work shaped an interdisciplinary research project on older car drivers funded by the SPARC project under the EPSRC and BBSRC. It was also instrumental in Middlesex University becoming the UK National Contact Centre (NCC) for EDeAN, in 2005.
