Abstract

Hot Plate is an international show, show showing individual artists from Belguim, Canada, Finland, Japan, Korea, Holland, Russia, USA and Britain. S. Mumberson, in addition to exhibiting a major work of his (Sick of London -2m x 70cm, produced in relief print) was also involved in selecting and curating the English section of the show.
Hot Plate focuses on installation and free hung printworks -prints take from an extended printmaking practice where framed wall hang work is broken away from to printmaking practices which include installation works, prints on three dimensional surfaces, printed sculpture and printworks in new mediums. Every selected artist had only one major piece and had been part of an international show of printworks in Novosibirsk Siberia 2009. This was a survey show of printworks across those countries in the world that have practicing printmakers.
