Abstract

This paper analysed the results of three different research studies into the information search startegies adopted by older people within a theortical HCI framework. It highlights the issues that arise when trying to combine traditional HCI methodologies with the specific user needs of older and disabled people. One outcome of the work was an invitation to organise a workshop, The Practical Application of Ethical Guidelines for Participative Research, hosted by Middlesex University and EDeAN, and attended by leading researchers from the EU and UK.
