Abstract
This paper (in Italian) provides a summary of migration trends from 'Muslim countries' to Europe from the 1950s to the 1990s and discusses its impact on host societies, including issues of diversity and integration. It also explores to what extent the settlement and development of muslim communities has been reshaping European identity on the one hand and establishing a new translational and multiethnic 'European Islam' on the other.
