Abstract
The research content of these three volumes is in (1) the selection and organization of the essays, which present Benjamin's thought as primarily philosophical in its essential character, and (2) the ‘General Introduction: Afterlives of Benjamin's Writings', Vol. 1, pp. xxiii–xl. The set contains 53 selected essays on Walter Benjamin, originally published across 6 languages (English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Spanish), plus one specially commissioned article (Ch. 5) on an area inadequately covered in the existing literature: the relationship of Benjamin's thought to the Neo-Kantianism of Hermann Cohen. 0-415-32533-1 (set); 0-415-32534-X (Vol. 1); 0-415-32535-8 (Vol. 2); 0-415-32536-6 (Vol. 3).
