Abstract
A fictional dialogue putting stereotypes of classical philosophers and others together to evaluate the issue of what is management knwoledge. The final outcome of the dialogue is sceptical: not only are there too many variables for a secure understanding of management, but also the whole idea of an organisation involves a perceptual element that undermines objective enquiry
