Abstract
Poems. Ten of the poems were published in Anvil New Poets 3 (2001). Fifteen of the poems in this collection won Poetry Review's Geoffrey Dearmer Prize for New Poet of the Year 1999; and the volume went on to win joint second prize in the 2004 Forward Prize for Best First Collection. It contains poems which are pastiches and ironic revisions of canonical English poems; poems in contemporary forms about living with the tag of schizophrenia; and both urban and pastoral poems, including ‘Arcadia' which was published in the Times Literary Supplement. The book was reviewed in TLS, Tribune, the Sunday Telegraph, etc. Readings from it were given at the Cheltenham Festival of Literature, the Guildford Book Festival, the Manchester Poetry Festival, and the Folkestone Literary Festival.
