Abstract
As a relatively new academic subject of study popular music has posed both opportunities and challenges in the development of methodologies and methods of research. In this session, Mike Dines, Shara Rambarran and Fiorenzo Palermo will discuss specific issues in mapping the disciplinary diversity in approaching popular music. The presentation will make particular reference to their current work editing a handbook on the subject.
