Abstract
This presentation Introduces the conceptual architecture of a training programme currently under development in two UK universities. Being & Becoming online explores how the rapid shift to online teaching, due to covid, has impacted teacher experiences.
Those working in Higher Education (HE) reflect on their feelings and reactions of being and becoming online. Their realities of being online directly with students whilst i) responding to technical challenges ii) responding to new demands iii) and dealing with online/offline transitions require time and space for personal and professional offloads. The need to connect and re-connect with peers for informal dialogue and support is vital.
Online engagement is about teaching, building relationships, and trust so that we can travel with our learners during their academic journey. Each sphere in the 'Being & Becoming' model represents the object of reflective CPD training towards informal buddying and sustainable peer-to-peer collaboration.
