Abstract

Diversity awareness, inclusive film.

This film is just one outcome of a study that explored culture meanings of respect. It also evaluates how these respect meanings manifests in behaviours among cohorts of diverse multidisciplinary business students working in diverse consulting teams, in and outside of the classroom. This film and the findings of this study, helped to reveal that respect is a commonly shared value for all that is culturally situated, is often taken for granted, and that respect in one culture, can mean disrespect in another. This study also made evident that a lack of awareness of culturally situated respect meaning can result in hostility and conflict.
