Abstract
This paper investigates the evidentiary basis for the use of meditation in legal education. It begins by considering how meditation is defined and the ways in which different kinds of meditation may be categorized. Next, rationales for its use in the context of legal education are outlined. After unpacking a number of studies which highlight the value addition in terms of well-being and resilience, the paper posits that further research on meditation could help to distinguish an evidentiary basis for its use. In doing so, the development of large scale, longitudinal studies involving both law students and legal practitioners is suggested.
