Abstract
The keynote was a revised and extended version of a paper first given at 'Conceptualism: Intersectional Readings, International Framings’, which was an international conference presented by the AHRC research project, Black Artists and Modernism, in collaboration with Van Abbemuseum. The conference was organised and co-convened by susan pui san lok, Sophie Orlando and Nick Aikens. A version of the paper will feature in the edited conference proceedings to be published as an ebook by Van Abbemuseum in autumn 2018.
