Abstract
This peer-reviewed article in Performance Research, 2004, results from a performance-based research undertaking that was pursued in and as the event of the same name, The Crystal Ball, shown at the ICA in London in June 2002. The Crystal Ball was an interactive event in which members of the audience had their future predicted by a panel of experts. My published article provides an account of the event, and proceeds to test the possibility of understanding the future through performance.
