Abstract
Angela Scollan was invited by the Early Years Department from the London Borough of Sutton in January 2009 to share her research and experience of working with foundation degree students during their professional and academic progression routes towards Early Years Professional Statues (EYPS). Research findings presented 'priority' challenges experienced via traditional and non-traditional routes into higher education impacting upon both retention and achievement outcomes. Research findings were utilised by the local borough and college to collaboratively construct and offer an 'EYP Network' and 'Transition Programme' to support academic progression, mentoring and leadership skills.
