Abstract

The main aim is to analyse the implications of migration for gender relations and care provisioning in the countries of the global South. It contributes to this through the development of the model of the care diamond which can be applied to very different kinds of welfare provision - ranging from the familial, to the community, market and the state - and extends the application of the concept of 'global chains of care' to the South.
