Colouredge
Kennedy, Maxine and Haywood, Paul (2012) Colouredge. [Show/Exhibition]
Abstract
The ‘Colouredge’ project was commissioned to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Littleborough Arts Festival in 2011. Over the past 12 months artists Maxine Kennedy and Paul Haywood have been collecting colours from the landscapes around the town, moorland and valleys of Littleborough to design a representative palette. They have been helped by the enthusiasm and generous spirit of local people and school pupils and they have now completed one set of colours. The exhibition at Ebor Studios includes a small range of products that use the colours as inspiration, and some interpretations by local artists and designers who have made the palette their own: Lindsay James, Brenda Ratcliffe, Cheryl Beswick, Martha Haywood and others.
