Abstract
In interview, art critic and editor of the art journal n. paradoxa Katy Deepwell discusses her work. She explains her initial founding of n. paradoxa as an on-line debating platform for feminist art criticism, refers to its internationalist stance, and focuses on her decision to go into print in 1998. She focuses on her editorial practices and policies, explores the relation of American feminists to women's movements in other countries, and assesses issues of class and privilege as they relate to Western feminism. She considers the magazine's policy of accepting contributions on a women-only basis, details her current research projects including her publication of Catherine Elwes's Video Loupe (2000) which is a documentation of her videos, and highlights her essay for the Contemporary Art Center in Kaliningrad, Russia. She concludes by outlining other current works including Dialogues: Interviews with Women Artists from Ireland (2002), which aims to stimulate critical awareness of their work.
