Abstract
In this chapter, we consider the intersection of class and sexuality. We begin by exploring the relevance of class to sexuality, and note thatmuch research in the area of sexuality – including the bulk of the research surveyed in this book – has an (unacknowledged) middle class subject. Thus, in this chapter we focus on the experiences ofworking class lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) people. Where possible we draw on British research, as the meaning and lived experience of class in the UK has a historical and cultural relevance that is arguably peculiar to the British cultural context.
