Abstract
In this paper the authors examine developments in learning theories in light of recent technological innovation. It is also argued that continuous research and development is needed for creating effective and efficient learning environment in continuously changing landscape of learning technologies, increasing diversity of learners and shifting cultural dimensions. Authors discuss how conducting research could be beneficial for predicting and identifying suitable technologies and choose appropriate methods in increasingly changing learning options and opportunities. With the available research results and explanations of procedures it will be easier for a teacher to choose effective ways of teaching, to be a reflective practitioner and action researcher as well as to create appropriate environment for learning for the coming generations of learners.
