Abstract

The signing of the Defence Cooperation Agreement between G.W.Bush and Colombia's president Uribe, which allowed the US to establish seven more military bases in Colombian territory sent alarms beels throughout the region. The US is busily establishing military bases throughout the region, including the resuscitation of the US IV Fleet for the South Atlantic and the Caribbean, all of which militarily surround and seemd to be aimed at the various radical governments that popualate the Western Hemisphere. It seems as though the US is determined to maintain its regional hegemony by the means of guns if necessary.
