Abstract
Section dismantles the myth that Venezuela's opposition to the Chavez's government is democratic. On the basis of solid data and evidence, it conclusively demonstrates that ever since Hugo Chavez won the presidential elections in Venezuela in 1998, the right wing opposition has done almost nothing else but seek to overthrow it. There is also evidence of substantial US support in this endeavour. In short, not beleaguered democrats but golpistas.
