Point of departure

Cavusoglu, Ergin (2008) Point of departure. [Show/Exhibition]

A multiple screen piece, filmed in two locations. Part of it is filmed in the UK at Stansted airport and part of it is filmed in Trabzon, which is in North East Turkey, not far from the Georgian border. It is a video installation which has kind of narrative structure to it, but ultimately it is quite abstract, it is quite non-linear in its structure. So there is a way of navigating within the piece. There are clues to what is happening, what can happen. But effectively, it’s more of an experience than actually like a movie. (from transcription of intervire with artist)
