Abstract

This case discusses how Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues positions itself in the luxury hospitality segment in Geneva, Switzerland. The case contains interviews with the General Manager and the Director of Rooms, who describe how they use focussed differentiation through service to achieve a competitive advantage. A particular focus is on the role of organizational culture and human resources in achieving superior quality of service, and the importance of leadership in this regard. An additional video provides background information about the hospitality context in Geneva.
