Towards ultra-high density scanning-probe memory using rewritable phase-change media
Wang, L. and Shah, Purav and Wright, C. David and Aziz, Mustafa M. (2010) Towards ultra-high density scanning-probe memory using rewritable phase-change media. In: European Phase Change and Ovonic Conference, 5-7 September, 2010, Milan, Italy.
In this paper we report on the systematic design of re-writeable, ultra-high density, high data rate scanning probe memories using phase-change media. The re-writeability of phase-change media from the amorphous to the crystalline phase or vice versa is investigated using a parametric variation approach. This enables the design of an optimized rewriteable medium stack for the re-writing of small, regular-shaped bits under low voltage/low power conditions.
