Abstract

This article aims to examine the notion of competence translative by comparing one hand to the notion of linguistic competence and secondly the concept of competence in sociological terms. I argue that this concept is closer to the concept of Language Proficiency than is usually stated in the work of translation. This concept would indeed accountable to some extent on data collected in studies of young performers and be compatible with certain assumptions made in the context of neurolinguistics of bilingualism.
