Abstract
The report details the results of the test implementation of the Media Pluralism Monitor 2015 in Malta. The implementation of MPM2015, for Malta, shows low/medium risks for media pluralism. Specifically, a low risk was detected in the areas of Basic Protection and Market Plurality, while a medium level of risk was found in the areas of Political Independence and Social Inclusiveness. With regard to the indicators, ten scored low risk, five medium, and three high risk, with one indicator (‘independence of news agencies’) being excluded from the analysis since Malta does not have news agencies and the indicator is not applicable to the country’s context.
